A STEN, a company headquartered in Barcelona with offices in Poland and Andorra, has chosen DataRoad to computer network and wireless network installation from your new office in Portugal.

What did the project consist of?

The installation covered all the network infrastructure necessary for the launch of STEN's new space in Portugal:

• Around 18 wireless access points, for full space coverage;
• Rack installation for the organisation of the network infrastructure;
• Fibre optic link between racks, ensuring a high transmission capacity between different areas of the building.

Why the fibre optic link between racks makes a difference

In installations with more than one rack, the way they communicate with each other has a direct impact on the performance of the entire network. A fibre optic link between racks offers greater bandwidth and lower susceptibility to electromagnetic interference than traditional copper cabling, which is especially relevant in office spaces with a high density of devices connected to the wireless network. This approach ensures that network performance remains consistent throughout the building, regardless of the distance between racks.
